° 1 pound of ground beef
° 2/3 cup chopped onion
° black pepper, ground to taste
° 2 teaspoons minced garlic
° 1 cup dry pasta
° 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce (or 2 8-0 small cans)
° 1 jar of homemade canned tomatoes, diced, or 1 packet of low-sodium into cubes
° 1 teaspoon soy sauce
° 1 teaspoon sugar
° 1 teaspoon dried thyme
° 2 teaspoons dried basil
° 1 teaspoon dried parsley
° 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
° 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, how to make it
directions :
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and put a pot of water on the fire to boil for the pasta. In a large frying pan over medium heat, add the burgers and chopped onions, then grind a handful of black pepper. Cook until the beef turns brown and the onions are translucent. For the last minute or so, add the chopped garlic. Strain any grease if needed.
When the pasta water boils, add the pasta and cook before it becomes tender, then drain and set aside. It will cook more in the oven. Meanwhile, add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, soy sauce, sugar and herbs to the minced meat and stir well.
Next, add cheddar cheese (or maybe parsley if you forget) and mix until the cheese melts. My heart cooked the pasta until blended.
Pour into a 2 liter casserole dish and sprinkle with oil. Top it with mozzarella cheese and bake for 30 minutes.
Let it rest for 5 minutes, then serve with buttered bread and salad to taste.
